I have been looking at the work of Mark Rothko. I know that he isn't a photographer, but his paintings are similar to what I am doing with my photographs. These three photographs are the ones I feel that emulate the work of Mark Rothko and are the ones that have influenced me the most.
His paintings are very abstract and colorful. The color still has a feel of movement. The colors blend and flow into each other. Also, Rothko creates his paintings with a great use of light. He created his paintings on large canvases to give the viewer a feeling of intimacy and awe. The way that the colors blend into each other is similar to what I am doing.
The goal for my series is to create photographs that resemble paintings. It is interesting to look at my photographs next to Rothko's paintings. They do have differences, but the resemblances are striking.
This photo I found on the internet after searching "motion photos". I couldn't find the artist, but it is very similar to some of my work. I'm not even sure if it is a photograph or if it was creating on the computer.
