Besides having several in-class and outside of class photography assignments, we also watched part of a movie in class. American Photography: A Century of Images was the movie. We watched the first section which went from 1900-1934. It was very informative, and I learned quite a bit. One of the most interesting things I learned about was the Brownie camera. Within the first year of production, one-fourth of a million Brownies were sold. One reason why I found this so interesting is because my parents have an old Brownie camera. It was neat to learn some more about it.
We have also been looking at a variety of websites dealing with different photography. Some of them have been about certain photographers while others have interesting images attached to the article.
This website is about creepy mansions in the U.S.

Sally Mann is a controversial photographer. Her photographs of her young children have become quite controversial. Her work is interesting and some of it can be rather provocative.

This website has photos of the earthquakes in Haiti and Japan. Some of them are difficult to see because of the pain and devastation shown in the images. However, these images are incredibly powerful.
I hope you enjoyed the images from the other websites. I know I did.
